The hairpin lace and porcelain meets for tea and coffee

Tactile talks are sensous and tactile meetings and dialogues between the grafic works of Anneline Schjødt Pedersen and the sculptural works made by me.

Becoming

Becoming is a sculptural body of work, using knit as a medium expressing a process of consciously entering into grief and loss in an attempt to change its hold and thereby hopefully discovering oneself in a new way. The different sculptural objetcs are expressing the process of becoming an individual with what one was given and not given, including everything that is broken or missing.

The sculptural objects are made of discarded and damaged pieces of knit together with perfectly knitted pieces. They are recreating holes in the knit itself, and as holes of what was not, what never became and never will become.

And holes to be perceived as potent ”spaces in between” spaces to hide in, to enter into in order to evolve differently – the process of becoming.

The exhibition was kindly supported by Beckett -Fonden, Grosserer L.F. Foghts Fond, konsul Georg Jorck og Hustru Emma Jorcks Fond. It was partly made at the Danish Art workshops .

Napkin for the breadbasket for the napkin

Group exhibition curated by Anne Fabricius Møller 24 textile designers and artist creating napkins to the the beatifully crafted breadbasket by AkikoKenMade.

Linen napkin 2 layers of fine linen handsewn together with cotton thread and visible stitches. The top layer of linen is handdyed. Mesurement: 24 x 25 cm

Linen napkin Fine linen with a border of hairpinlace made of flat transparent japanese paperyarn. The border is handsewn to the linen with invisble stitches. The edge of the linen is folded and handsewn on the backside. Mesurement: 29,5 x 29,5 cm

Handcrafted wood and textile products and objects for daily life use.

The exhibition embraces both the functionel and the aesthetics of the every day life and is a meeting between the very different materials wood and textile.

In common Akiko and Ken and Marianne have an interest for the material and the craft, and a belief that beatiful, senseous handcrafted products and objects have an positive impact in peopes lives.

From the deep.

Knit objects inspired by the beatiful and dangerous creatures of the ocean – the jellyhish.

I see them as the otherworldly dancers of the sea, with innumerable variations in patterns, shapes, colors and moods to which I give artistic expression through knitwork. These peculiar beings remind me that comfort is deeply intertwined with hurt when we remember and sense all layers of life.

Literally and philosophically, the layers of the jellyfish are meditations of what is visible and what lies hidden to us in the dark, of beauty and the pain that we need contemplation and quietude to embrace.
